Puri, Jan 22: Social outfits has demanded to open Puri Jagannath temple amid Covid restriction.
Staging a protest against the decisions of the Chhtisa Nijog, Jagannath Sena has urged the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration(SJTA)to allow common darshan soon.
Sources said, Puri Jagannath temple has remained shut for the visitors from January 9 in view of the surge of Omicron across the state. As a result,common darshan has been debarred. At the same time, the livelihood of the people those earn breads in Puri town has been totally affected as the rituals of the temple is performed by the servitors with no outside visitors turn up to the shrine.
With a memorandum to the SJTA, activists have requested to open the temple for visitors and allow common darshan before January 31 amid adherence to the Covid protocols.
